Boston Helicopter Tour from Norwood

Boston Helicopter Tours

Boston Helicopter Tours

Experience the thrill of flying over many of Boston's key sights in a helicopter.

Leave Norwood and fly over Fenway Park, as well as MIT and Harvard.

See the sailboats on the Charles river while looking at your reflection in the downtown skyscrapers.

You'll also fly over Boston's windmill and the famous rainbow gas tank that some say includes a hidden face in the painted stripes.

This flight takes place in a Robinson R44 helicopter. With over 8000 built, the Robinson is the world's most popular helicopter.

The Robinson R44 helicopter holds three passengers, plus the pilot.

Weight and Height Restrictions

The distribution of weight is vital to helicopter safety. There are per seat weight limits. All passengers must not exceed individual height and weight maximums (6'4" tall and 250 pounds) and the total weight of the maximum of three (3) passengers per flight may not exceed 450 pounds.

Age Information

Any child under 24 months of age is welcome as a lap child at no charge. Children 24 months and over require an individual full-fare seat. Minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult - usually parent or legal guardian. All children must be factored into the weight and balance of the aircraft. The Pilot-in-Command will make the final decision for acceptable passenger weights.

Liability Waiver Required

All passengers must sign a liability waiver. Parent or legal guardian must sign for any minor child. You should understand that flying (or any activity of this nature) contains inherent risks, including injury and potentially death. Those who participate in this flying activity assume all risks.

Passenger Identity Requirement

In accordance with Federal Aviation Administration regulations, air operators are required to establish each passenger's identity. Each adult must present a government issued photo ID prior to boarding the helicopter. Acceptable forms of identification include: 1) Valid/Unexpired State issued driver license, 2) Valid/Unexpired Passport, 3) US Military ID.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: What happens if the weather is bad?
A: On a flight day, the pilot assesses the aviation weather forecast for the conditions at 2,000 feet, for the whole day and over a 50 mile radius from the venue, to determine whether the flights can proceed. Sometimes the weather at a customer's lodging venue is very different to the helicopter's starting location. Please call to make sure, even if the weather seems bad. If you do not turn up for a scheduled flight, you will be charged. Flights may be postponed in the interest of passenger safety/enjoyment. There may also, rarely, be unforeseen circumstances which would lead to a flight cancellation.

Q: Do I lose my seat if the flights are cancelled due to the weather?
A: No, you simply need to reschedule for an alternative date or time. If rescheduling is not possible, you will be issued a full refund.
Q: What should I wear?
A: Sensible footwear is advised for ease of boarding. Your clothing should be appropriate for the weather conditions. The interior of the helicopter is as warm as the inside of a car.

Q: What about carry-on luggage?
A: No hand luggage will be allowed with the exception of cameras.

Q: Can I take photos?
A: Certainly. The helicopter offers outstanding visibility for all passengers, so you should be able to take some memorable souvenir shots or video.

Q: Can I take a cell phone?,br> A: Cell phones must be turned off prior to boarding the helicopter.

Q: Is it possible to accommodate disabled people?
A: In some instances, yes. You may call 800-301-3239 prior to booking to determine if your specific situation may be accommodated.

Q: Is the helicopter insured?
A: Yes - fully.
