New England Aquarium in Boston
Hop a rock with the Rockhopper Penguins
Take a trip to exotic waters at the New England Aquarium in Boston, which features aquatic animals from around the world and more than 70 exhibits.
Head inside to greet more than 80 penguins, then wind your way around the four-story Giant Ocean Tank, home to a huge Caribbean coral reef.
See energetic young sea lions bound through their open-air exhibit overlooking Boston Harbor, which they share with Northern fur seals.
Feel the smooth wing of a ray, let a hermit crab scurry across your palm and see if you can spot a camouflaged leafy seadragon.

Change Fee Policy: If changes are allowed on a tour or activity, a $20.00 per reservation change fee will be applied for any change to a reservation. Please note that some tours and activities do not allow any changes. Date changes can be made only if we can confirm availability on the new date. While we cannot guarantee any changes can be made, all change requests must be submitted a minimum of 24 hours prior to the tour departure and must be handled on an individual basis through our Reservations Center.

Animals & Exhibits
Roll your sleeves up and touch the smooth wing of a cownose ray in the newest exhibit, the largest shark and ray touch tank on the East Coast. Watch penguins swim and preen in their bustling exhibit. Spot the seadragons amid their extravagant camouflage, go eye-to-eye with a harbor seal then watch the frisky sea lions romp in their open-air exhibit. Meet the lionfish and the stonefish, some of the most poisonous fishes in the sea, and count the arms on a giant octopus. Don't forget to say hello to Myrtle, the green sea turtle that swims in the Giant Ocean Tank with sharks, eels, rays and hundreds of tropical fishes!

Meet the Animals
Make sure to visit the hands-on areas for kids, like the shark, ray touch tank and the Edge of the Sea touch tank. Check out a special live animal presentation or watch how the marine animal trainers interact with the seals. There are many opportunities for visitors to interact and learn about the animals during Aquarium visits.

The New England Aquarium opened in 1969, revitalizing Boston's Central Wharf and creating a cultural institution that connects visitors to the waterfront. Today the Aquarium includes more than 70 exhibits and 26,000 animals. The aquarium experience continues to be redefined for visitors while engaging in research and conservation efforts around the world.
